Tonight – right after Prison Valley and right before the geek chic party of the century – the man who gained a cult following with his visual documentation of the Sex Pistols back when it was punk o’clock, is bestowing us DocLabbers with a surprise screening of his new movie Requiem for Detroit. Exploring the remnants of what was once a thriving auto-industrial city, he presents the smoldering remnants of an urban dystopia that has given rise to a flurry of alternative survival tactics, like urban farming and grass-roots activism. Could this be the birthplace of a new work-life model for our post credit-crunch world?
